1. Applicants and qualifications for student loans (applicable from February 1, 2014)
1. Applicants for student loans
Students eligible for this loan must be citizens of the Republic of China with registered household registration and have formal student status at this school. (Those who are fully funded by the government or have received other interest-free student loans sponsored by the government are not eligible to apply for student loans.)
(II) Eligibility criteria for applying for student loans (based on the family’s annual income from 2014 tax returns)
1. Households with annual income below 1.2 million yuan can apply for loans (interest-free).
2. Family annual income is between RMB 1.2 million and RMB 1.48 million or less: Students plus siblings or children, totaling 2 or more, can apply for a loan (interest-free).
3. Annual household income exceeds 1.48 million yuan
(1) A student plus two siblings or children can apply for a loan (paying the full interest).
(2) Students with three or more siblings or children can apply for a loan (interest-free).
*Definition: “Siblings” and “children” are students who are minors or adults and are formally enrolled in school.
*Applicants with an annual family income of more than NT$1.2 million must submit proof of enrollment and household registration information (including detailed notes).
2. Loan Amount
The loanable items include tuition, miscellaneous fees, book fees, accommodation fees, student group insurance, and computer and Internet communication usage fees.
1. Tuition fee: Based on the amount on the registration payment slip.
(ii) Miscellaneous fees: mainly based on the amount of the registration payment slip.
(3) Computer and Internet communication usage fees: based on the amount on the registration payment slip.
(IV) Book fees: NT$3,000 per semester.
(V) Accommodation Fees: For students living on campus, the amount is based on the registration fee payment slip. For students living off campus, the maximum amount that can be borrowed is $10,750 (accommodation deposit cannot be used to apply for student loans).
6. Student group insurance premium: mainly based on the amount on the registration payment slip.
(VII) Overseas training expenses: Maximum amount per student per year: NT$440,000.
(8) Living expenses: Students from low-income households can borrow 40,000 yuan per semester for living expenses; students from middle- and low-income households can borrow 20,000 yuan per semester for living expenses.
*The amounts in each column must be filled in separately. Please do not combine them together.
*If you need to apply for a loan for living expenses, please attach proof and go to the counter to process.
3. Bank application method
1. Online loan application through Taiwan Bank: from January 15, 2015 (Wednesday) to February 21, 2015 (Friday).
1. Online loan application qualifications: If you are applying for a student loan for the second time or more and there is no change in your information, you can apply online.
2. Application website: Taiwan Bank Student Loan Portal https://reurl.cc/9R9jYX.
(2) Application and guarantee at Taiwan Bank counter: from January 15, 2015 (Wednesday) to February 21, 2015 (Friday).
1. Only in-person loan application (not applicable to students applying online):
(1) First-time students, transfer students, and students continuing their studies.
(2) Those who apply for living expenses and overseas training expenses.
2. Application process (including required documents and precautions): Please go to the Taiwan Bank Student Loan Portal to confirm https://reurl.cc/9R9jYX.
4. School Registration
After the bank signs and seals the guarantee, please return the student loan "School Deposit and Execution Coupon (Second Coupon)" before February 21, 2025 (Friday). The payment method is as follows:

(ii) Submit in person: send to the Student Affairs Office (Room 205, Yunqi Building).
3. Mailing: Use registered mail and send it before February 21, 2015 (postmark will be used as proof). Please confirm that the relevant information is correct before sending it and keep the relevant registration documents. Please write "Fo Guang University Student Loan Information" on the registered envelope.
5. Scheduled announcement date for the results of the Ministry of Education’s qualification check
The review is expected to be conducted at the end of March 2015. If you have any doubts about the review results, please apply for a review within 5 days from the date of the announcement (excluding holidays) with the list of comprehensive income of your family in the previous year issued by the National Tax Bureau. If you pass the review, the Bank of Taiwan will transfer funds to the school. If you fail the review, you will have to pay the registration fee to complete the registration process.
6. If the provisions of this item are changed by the Ministry of Education or the Bank of Taiwan, they will be revised by separate announcement.
