Our university adopts a "program-based curriculum structure", reorganizing complex courses to enhance student learning. In addition to the general education program, each college and department structures its programs based on their academic focus and developmental stages. These programs are categorized into:

  1. Interdisciplinary Signature Programs at the College Level
  2. Core Discipline Programs at the Department Level
  3. Specialized Elective Programs within Disciplines

This diverse course selection encourages students to engage in active learning and critical thinking, fostering a truly free and self-directed learning environment. Students can tailor their coursework based on personal interests and career planning, while also allowing flexibility for double majors or minors.

Program Structure

  • Interdisciplinary Signature Programs: Designed to cultivate interdisciplinary professionals, these programs are collaboratively developed by different departments within a college or across colleges.
  • Core Discipline Programs: Developed by each department to align with both the university’s educational mission and the goals of their respective colleges.
  • Specialized Elective Programs: Designed to equip students with professional skills relevant to further studies or career paths.

Additionally, students may choose from elective programs such as:

  • The International Program, which enhances foreign language proficiency and broadens global perspectives.
  • Industry-Cooperative Programs, which are developed in collaboration with industry partners under the College of Industry, aiming to improve students' employability.
